CHILD SUPPORT ISN’T JUST AN ISSUE OF DOLLARS

The whole experience has taken a considerable emotional toll on the kids. It’s possible they might need independent counseling to help them deal with the situation. One this is for certain, life goes on after divorce. The same financial responsibilities consistent with child rearing are there.

Your ex-spouse may be ordered to pay child support and to share in some of the more extraordinary costs associated with parenting like college education, health care and such. Even so, there will be issues regarding after school activities, clothes, summer camps, and so forth. Husbands and wives can legally separate and divorce but, in the eyes of the law, being a parent is forever.

Custody and visitation rights notwithstanding, should something happen to you before your child is of age whatever inheritances, insurance, pension and other extended benefits could wind up under the control of your former husband.

If you have kids and you’re getting a divorce you need to really think things through and that’s not always easy to do with so many other issues swirling around at this time. DECNJ.org will lock in and focus on every conceivable scenario as it might affect your children - ensuring that safeguards are in place to make sure they’re as prepared as you are.

IF YOU HAVE KIDS AND ARE GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE EMAIL US IN CONFIDENCE WITH YOUR QUESTIONS. WE’LL DO OUR BEST TO SERVE.
